The mission of the School of Taxation & Business Law is to engage in quality research and teaching of law that is relevant to business. Our staff research and teach the implications of law for business decisions.
Hence the main areas of law that we research and teach are all business related. These include general law and taxation law issues relating to:

- Trade practices
- Intellectual property
- Alternative business structures
- Business finance
- Consumer protection
- Marketing
- Franchising
- Information technology
At the undergraduate level the School of Taxation & Business Law offers a major, double major and honours program in taxation and a double major in business law.
At the graduate level our research programs are the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), the Master of Philosophy (MPhil), the Master of Applied Taxation (MAppTax) and the Master of Taxation (MTax) . In conjunction with the Faculty of Law we offer courses in the graduate coursework program Master of Business Law (MBL).
We also offer courses as part of the Australian School of Business graduate coursework programs Master of Professional Accounting (MProfAcc) and a Business Law specialisation in the graduate coursework Master of Commerce (MCom) program.
