The School of Economics is seeking Leaders for the Peer Assisted Support Scheme (PASS) in 2012. Quant PASS leaders will run study support groups in the first year core courses in either Business and Economic Statistics, Quantitative Analysis for Business and Economics or both courses. Leaders may be asked to take PASS groups in session 1 only or for the whole year depending on enrolments.
Applicants for BES and QABE PASS positions are required to have a gained a grade of at least 75 in both courses by the end of Semester 2, 2011. Students who are not studying QABE should have a result of at least 75 in BES.
Interviews for leader positions will be held on Thursday 24 November or Friday 25 November. Interviewees will be contacted by phone or email as soon as possible after the closing date (November 11) to arrange a suitable time.
Successful applicants must be available to take part in training for two days in the week prior to 0 Week, 13 February to 17 February 2012. Once Semester 1 begins leaders will be required to attend a regular weekly meeting and to prepare for and run one or more weekly study groups. PASS requires both commitment from leaders and enough flexibility in their timetables to organise meeting and class times. This flexibility may be difficult to achieve for those who have more than one day of work arranged in addition to their PASS and study commitments.
