ASB academic inspires students to achieve career success

An esteemed Australian School of Business (ASB) academic will take on a new role at the University of New South Wales’ (UNSW) Warrane Residential College.

Peter Heslin, Associate Professor from the School of Management at ASB, has been made Academic Fellow of Warrane College, an independent residential college for men affiliated with UNSW.

Peter Heslin, Program Chair of the Academy of Management Careers Division and a former Warrane College resident, hopes to influence the well-being and career success of the college’s students.

“I am proud to assume the role and responsibility of an Academic Fellow of the college. It is a real honour to be amongst Warrane College’s great scholars and future leaders. I aim to encourage Warrane College residents to explore and exploit the terrific educational and career opportunities available at UNSW and to fully invest themselves in their studies and other campus activities.”

In his inaugural address to Warrane residents, Peter Heslin reviewed cutting edge careers research including the ingredients for developing true expertise. Peter Heslin also explained the importance of developing positive and high quality relationships in order to access the best career opportunities and stay motivated.

“It was terrific to see so many Warrane residents eager to learn and apply emerging research to achieving their career potential.”

Warrane College Academic Fellows contribute to the academic environment and programs of the College. Academic Fellows directly assist the Master, the College and its students, according to their range of interests and talents, and by acting as ambassadors for the College in the wider community.
