Entry requirements

 

Admission to UNSW is based on academic merit. Entry into the Australian School of Business undergraduate programs is based on the performance of the following:

 

  • Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)
  • Australian or New Zealand Senior Secondary studies
  • University or post-secondary qualifications (eg, TER, TAFE Advanced Diploma)
  • Overseas qualifications considered equivalent to Australian Year 12 studies
  • Alternative entry programs such as ACCESS and UNSW Foundation Year

 

In addition to academic performance, all applicants must meet the UNSW English Language requirement.

HSC Plus

HSC Plus is a bonus points system that rewards performance in Year 12 courses relevant to UNSW undergraduate programs. Applicants to a UNSW business degree may receive a maximum of five bonus points following achievement in Year 12 English and Mathematics in the year prior to admission to UNSW.

 

Please note: You will be automatically assessed for HSC Plus eligibility according to your UAC preferences.


The following programs are not included in HSC Plus:
 

  • Bachelor of Commerce (International)
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op)
  • Bachelor of Information Systems (Co-op)
  • Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws
  • Bachelor of Economics/Bachelor of Laws

Elite Athletes & Performers Program

UNSW offers the Elite Athletes and Performers Program which supports students with a flexible entry process and study arrangements. The program recognises and rewards students who have demonstrated excellence through sporting, performing arts, scholastic and leadership achievement on a national or international level.

 

Under this program, undergraduate applicants are eligible to receive up to five bonus points (maximum) for entry to their preferred UNSW business program.

 

All Elite Athletes and Performers Program applicants must complete an online form.

expand  What is the English language requirement for international students?
The Australian Government requires international students from category 3 and 4 countries to undertake an English language test as part of their student visa requirements. To date, the IELTS test is one English language test option accepted by the department for Student visa purposes. The department can also accept TOEFL and OET in 14 countries where IELTS is not available. However, the department will shortly be able to accept the following English language test options for Student visa application purposes: (i) TOEFL in all countries; (ii) Pearson Test of English Academic (Pearson) in all countries; and (iii) Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) from Cambridge ESOL (Cambridge) in all countries.
