The Master of Business & Technology is a joint venture between the Australian School of Business and the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW, and draws on the intellectual strengths and integrity of both. It aims to equip managers and professionals with skills and knowledge to be effective in a business environment driven by technology. Participants benefit from the application of core course concepts to their workplace and experience. Many assessments are work-based, reinforcing the link between theory and application.
The MBT program is designed to allow you the freedom to tailor your own program by studying the courses most relevant to you. The only core requirements are that at Masters level, participants must complete at least one of two capstone courses, and at Graduate Certificate level, participants must complete GBAT9100 Introduction to Management for their first course. Participants are free to choose all other courses from the 20+ MBT courses on offer each year.

Credit for previous postgraduate study
On admission to the MBT it may be possible for you to be granted credit (advanced standing) for postgraduate level courses completed at recognised tertiary institutions within the last six years. Advanced standing is not granted automatically; each application is assessed on its merits. To apply for credit for a previously completed course, you need to supply a course outline detailing the full contents, the duration of the course and assessment tasks, as well as a certified transcript of your results. The usual maximum credit allowable is equivalent to one-third of the qualification with which you intend to graduate. In all cases, at least 50% of courses counting towards the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters level must be MBT courses.
