  • Semester commences: Monday 16 July, 2012

To apply for the MBT program you will require the following:

1. Application form

Applications to our MBT program can be made online. Apply online (application fee: AUD$50)

Applicants must complete all sections of the application form and submit specified documentation, as detailed below.

*Applications can only be paid for by credit card; bankcard, VISA or Mastercard.

2. Prior tertiary degree academic transcript

Applicants holding a prior degree must provide a certified copy of their full academic transcript. Documents not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations.

3. Your CV

As MBT participants are required to contribute to and benefit from course interaction based on their experience, applicants should have a minimum of four years relevant experience.

Applicants with less than four years experience, but who have relevant management/professional experience together with a tertiary degree, may be considered for entry to the program if they include a statement of support from their employer. All applicants should attach a copy of their curriculum vitae detailing their professional experience, including name of employer, dates of service, positions held and the nature of duties performed.

So that we can correctly assess your professional experience for entry into the program, at a minimum the CV you submit as part of your application should include the following:

  • Personal details
  • Your full name
  • Contact information
  • Address
  • Phone numbers
  • Email address
  • Education:
    • TAFE and RTO award attained and year completed
    • University and other tertiary institutions
    • Award attained and year conferred (a full certified transcript must be available)
  • Relevant professional experience

This section of the CV is a chronological, step-by-step break down of your career by dates, with most recent position being listed first. You must include a detailed description of the duties and responsibilities of each position – please read the outline of what is considered relevant professional experience.

Part-time positions should be noted as such, this is particularly necessary if experience was obtained during periods of study at a tertiary institution. Any career gaps should be explained.

What is relevant experience?

All applicants are required to have a minimum of 4 years relevant or management/professional experience. Relevant experience includes being responsible for tasks that are non-routine, unstructured or semi-structured, or engaging in problem solving activities. It can include experience of managing a small team, being a team leader, managing a project, or being responsible for the management and allocation of resources (time, people, money, facilities management, equipment, assets).

4. Personal statement

Your Personal Statement should be 200 - 400 words (about half a page) and should describe your professional goals, your most significant achievements and why you wish to take the MBT.

5. Minimum language requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English, or who have not undertaken degree studies where the language of instruction is English, are required to demonstrate their English competency by undertaking a recognised English language ability test. The following minimum scores must have been achieved on one of the listed English Language tests within the last two years:
