AGSM MBA scholarships

 

All applications for scholarships must be made following the submission of your online application. There are two types of scholarships available for AGSM MBA students: 

 

  • Internal (AGSM MBA) managed scholarships
  • External (UNSW) managed scholarships

 
Please note: Scholarships listed below are for either the full-time AGSM MBA or part-time MBA (Executive) program. Closing dates for applications can be found in each scholarship information area.

 Internal scholarships

AGSM MBA Community Spirit Scholarship
AGSM Full-time MBA applicants only (no residency requirements)
The AGSM MBA Community Spirit Scholarships are awarded each year to incoming MBA students who can demonstrate strong leadership skills and bring their diverse experience and global perspectives to substantial community involvement. Students who have been awarded other scholarships are not eligible.
 
Multiple scholarships are available.

Value: $10,000 - $25,000

AGSM MBA Excellence Scholarship
AGSM Full-time MBA applicants only (no residency requirements)
The AGSM MBA Excellence Scholarships are awarded each year to incoming AGSM MBA students with a record of academic excellence and/or outstanding business experience and leadership. Students who have been awarded other scholarships are not eligible.
 
Multiple scholarships are available.
 
Value: $10,000 - $25,000

AGSM MBA Women in Leadership Scholarship
AGSM Full-time MBA applicants only

The AGSM MBA Programs Women in Leadership Scholarship is an internal AGSM MBA scholarship awarded an incoming student/s who can, through their experience and background, show strong leadership skills and demonstrate ways in which they have been a strong role model. This can be shown through business/entrepreneurial leadership experience and mentoring capability.

 AGSM MBA full-time scholarships

AGSM MBA AGA (Australian Defence Force Academy Graduates Association) Scholarship
Full-time MBA applicants (Australian & New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents only)
Applicants must be an AGA partner, defined as an official graduate of the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) and who has paid the life-time membership fees.
 
This scholarship has been established for an AGA (Australian Defence Force Academy Graduates Association) partner with demonstrated leadership skills to undertake the full-time MBA program.
 
1 scholarship available per annum.
 
Value: up to $25,000

AGSM MBA Dean's Scholarship
Full-time MBA applicants (Australian & New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents only)
This scholarship has been established to encourage diversity in the full-time student body. Strong consideration will be given to applicants to under-represented groups such as women, candidates from the not-for-profit sector, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and candidates seeking re-entry to the workforce. The successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and possess excellent communication skills.
 
1 scholarship available per annum.

Boyarsky International Travel Scholarship
AGSM MBA Full-time applicants (Australian citizens only)
This scholarship is available to students studying at the Australian School of Business, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering or the Faculty of the Built Environment and is awarded to undertake a period of study overseas on a UNSW International Exchange. AGSM applicants must be proposing to undertake a period of study on an AGSM MBA approved exchange program.
 
1 scholarship available per annum.

Broadleaf Capital International
AGSM MBA Full-time applicants only (no residency requirements)
The scholarship has been established to encourage applicants who have an interest in pursuing a course of study and/or a career related to risk management or corporate governance to undertake full-time study at the AGSM MBA program in the Australian School of Business.

Joseph Barling Fellowship
AGSM MBA Full-time applicants only (no residency requirements)
This scholarship is aimed at improving the standing and promoting the image of graduate engineers by encouraging UNSW Engineering graduates to undertake full-time postgraduate study.

Preference will be given to an electrical engineering graduate.

1 scholarship available per annum. Next scholarship available in 2014.

Peter & Helen Hearl Postgraduate US Exchange Scholarship PGTR1002
For students completing the AGSM MBA Program at the Australian School of Business who intend to complete a semester of study at an AGSM MBA program partner university in the United States of America.
 
Value: $5000 (Tax Exempt for One Off Payment)
Residency: Australian Citizen / Australian Permanent Resident / New Zealand Citizen

Sir Walter Scott Scholarship
AGSM MBA Full-time applicants (Australian & New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents only)
The scholarship was established with funding from the James N. Kirby Foundation to encourage individuals with a strong leadership interest to undertake full-time study in the AGSM MBA program at the Australian School of Business.
 
1 scholarship available per annum.

 AGSM MBA (Executive) scholarships

AGSM Alumni Community Leader Scholarship
AGSM MBA (Executive) applicants (Australian citizens only)
This is a new scholarship that has been established by the AGSM Alumni to encourage students to undertake the AGSM MBA (Executive) program at the Australian School of Business and is available to applicants who do not receive financial support from their employers and are not in receipt of any other scholarships.
 
Strong consideration will be given to applicants employed by a recognised non-profit community based organisation which provides services to disadvantaged individuals and/or communities.
 
The scholarship will be awarded for the duration of the AGSM MBA (Executive) program, including the Strategic Management Year (SMY) and will cover 50% of the costs of the entire program including all tuition fees and Strategic Management Year residential costs.

Andrew Thyne Reid Scholarship
MBA (Executive) Strategic Management Year entrants (Australian citizens or Permanent Residents only)
The Andrew Thyne Reid Charitable Trust is proud to offer executives from the not-for-profit sector, preferably charities, the Andrew Thyne Reid Scholarship.
 
The scholarship will be awarded to offset tuition for an AGSM MBA (Executive) student entering the Strategic Management Year (SMY) - offered as a single scholarship of $12,500 to two students (each for the January and July SMY intakes).

Marcus Cohen Memorial Award
AGSM MBA (Executive) applicants only (no residency requirements)
This award was established with the hope to remember and celebrate the memory and ideology of Marcus Cohen, a passionate and gifted teacher who never tired of sharing the fruits of his knowledge, who inspired students to reach their goals and was an inspiration to them and to his fellow colleagues.
 
To be eligible for the Marcus Cohen Memorial Award, an applicant must gain acceptance into the AGSM MBA (Executive) Programs Strategic Management Year at the Australian School of Business. 
 
Applicants will be assessed on having achieved a minimum distinction grade in the course Managing People and Organisations and a minimum credit grade in at least one of the courses Managing Change or Managerial Skills.

The applicant will demonstrate how he or she has applied their learning from these subjects and distinguished themselves from their peers in employment, and in pro bono and/or charitable work.

Michael Page International Scholarship
AGSM MBA (Executive) Strategic Management Year entrants who are enrolling in the July 2012 intake (Australian Citizens)
To be eligible for a Scholarship, an applicant must gain acceptance into the AGSM MBA (Executive) Strategic Management Year at the Australian School of Business. Studies should be relevant to the fields of Finance, Financial Services, Legal, HR, Technology, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Procurement and Supply Chain.

The Scholarship will cover up to $34,000 tuition and residential costs of the AGSM MBA (Executive) Strategic Management Year in the Australian School of Business. The tuition fees are payable as a tuition waiver over the duration of the program.

To be eligible an applicant must not be in receipt of tuition funding, or any other form of financial support connected with study, from another company or organisation.
 
Value: $34,000

Synergy Protection Agency Award
AGSM MBA (Executive) Strategic Management Year

AGSM MBA (Executive) Strategic Management Year entrants who are enrolling in the July 2012 intake (no residency requirements.)
To be eligible for this award, an applicant must gain acceptance into the AGSM MBA (Executive) Strategic Management Year at the Australian School of Business. The purpose of the gift is to assist students who are in financial need and undertaking the Strategic Management Year (SMY) of the AGSM MBA (Executive) Program at the AGSM.


The applicant will be assessed on the following:

 

  • demonstrated financial need;
  • academic merit;
  • reasons for undertaking the proposed course of study;
  • potential to contribute to the AGSM MBA (Executive) program and the Australian School of Business community.


The award has a value of $4,000 per annum and will be paid against tuition fees for the
duration of the program which is one year.


To be eligible an applicant must not be in receipt of tuition funding, or any other form of financial support connected with study, from another company or organisation.


Value: $4,000
