Documentation

I’ve started my online application where do I send my documents?

Your online or paper based application form is sent to our UNSW Direct Admissions Office. It is important that once you have submitted your online form, that you then send in your certified documentation. Once an application with the necessary documents has been received, UNSW Direct Admissions are then able to send your application to the ASB  for assessment.

What is accepted as certified documentation?

Certified copies of documents should be provided, rather than originals. However, original copies of English language tests are required (if applicable).

To have your documents certified you will need to take the original document and a copy to an authorised person for signing. View a list of UNSW approved list of occupations (pdf).

The program I am applying for requires a detailed CV, how should it be set out and how do I submit it?

Some of our postgraduate programs require you to submit a CV as a compulsory part of the entry criteria. It is essential that your CV provides details of your employment, achievements, and any other sufficient information regarding your role and responsibilities. For more information on how to set out your CV, please refer to the Careers Online website.

In addition to this, please note that any relevant work experience should be post-degree and full time. Internships carried out while studying and/or part time work will not be considered. Please complete the following online form to submit your CV:

Offers

How soon can I expect to have an answer about my application?

For a complete application* allow an approximate time of 1-2 weeks This timeframe may be longer in peak times. If additional documentation is requested then this will also lengthen the timeframe. Therefore, please ensure you submit your completed application with all supporting documentation early to avoid delays.

*A complete application means:

  1. Submission of all documents certified from the original (and authorised English translations of the original transcript and grading system if the transcript is in another language other than English)
  2. Original English language tests if applicable
  3. All extra documentation that is particular to the program applied for, as outlined on the online application form or paper based form

I have been sent an email from ASB advising that my offer will expire.  I would now like to defer, how do I do this?

If you have received a letter of offer and wish to defer, then we would certainly encourage you to do so. This will ensure that you are able to receive a new letter of offer for a subsequent semester. In order to defer you will need to follow the step by step information through myUNSW.  If you encounter any problems with this process, please contact us.

How to accept, decline or defer your offer and enrol online

I’ve received a full letter of offer but in the conditions it says that I have outstanding documents to submit can I still accept my place?

Yes. It is important to accept your offer to secure a place in the program. However your outstanding documents, for example your final transcript, must be provided to UNSW Direct Admissions at start of the semester.

I am enrolling in the Master of Commerce, how can I find out more about which data analysis course is right for me?

If you are enrolling in the Master of Commerce or the Master or Commerce (Extension) you must choose one data analysis course as part of the program requirement as outlined in your letter of offer. Use our guide to find out which course is right for you (pdf).

It is important that you check the specialisation you have chosen as all three data analysis courses are not required in every specialisation. In particular finance, banking and enterprise systems and business design only offer two choices. All other specialisations offer three.
