Executive Consortium

How will your organisation tackle your most pressing strategic and operational challenges?

The majority of organisations try to solve these issues internally. There are numerous risks attached to this approach – a lack of fresh ideas, the dangers of group think, the absence of any external knowledge  in the decision making process,  and  the introduction of unconscious biases in decision making.

How are these challenges currently addressed?

Most companies seldom seek input or support from similar, non-competing organisations.  And yet the consideration of alternative perspectives, collaboration with others in generating creative solutions and learning from leaders outside your business and industry has been proven as a means of developing a superior solution. Taking this approach not only results in innovative thinking about today’s challenges, it demonstrably enhances the ability of leaders to address future issues through a new lense.

How is this program designed?

AGSM’s Executive Consortium is designed to offer a new way for organisations to approach their most pressing issues. The Executive Consortium brings together teams of up to six from between four and six non-competing organisations. Together they work on an executive sponsored challenge from each organisation over a period of six months. This work is undertaken in a variety of formats, lead by AGSM faculty and coaches – residential  workshops, team coaching, workplace project support.

The Executive Consortium is a highly effective way to develop the capabilities of your senior managers and leaders in strategic thinking and problem solving.

Why is the Consortium Program unique?

The Consortium is unlike any other leadership development investment on a number of dimensions. This program experience is different as it:
• Has direct application to a live business project
• Creates the opportunity to engage with and learn from peers in non-competing organisations
• Incorporates the latest thinking from recent University of NSW research
• Facilitates access to AGSM’s network of leading business schools – our partners Wharton, Cranfield, Harvard and Insead

Integration of applied research

Recent research into High Performing Workplaces, organisations that outperform their competitors on profitability, innovation, employee engagement, and customer orientation, has shown that these organisations have:

  • 20% higher innovation levels
  • 23% lower employee turnover
  • 20% more time focussed on customers, and
  • $40k higher profit per employee

Next steps

The Executive Consortium is the program that will put your organisation on the journey to high performance. Only one organisation per industry sector can participate.
