Creating organisational agility to build sustainable competitive advantage
- What is ‘Organisational Agility’?
‘Organisational Agility’ is the capability to rapidly and cost efficiently adapt to changes in the business environment. Agile organisations make change an integral part of their culture. They adapt more quickly than their competitors to new markets and environments, taking advantage of the emerging opportunities.
- Why is ‘Organisational Agility’ Important?
After 18 months of economic turbulence, the Australian and global economy have begun to turn. Many questions still remain regarding how quickly and with what strength markets will recover. In this environment many organisations face a strategic conflict between the need to protect themselves while still vulnerable and the desire to capitalise on the new emerging opportunities. In this situation, the need for organisations and their leaders to be agile is critical.
