Leadership, Culture and Management Practices of High Performing Workplaces

 
 

 The 5 year Government-funded research report, Leadership, Culture and Management Practices of High Performing Workplaces: The High Performing Workplace Index, was released on October 6 2011.

 

The study included 78 organisations (employee size 20-1700) and over 5,600 employees making it the single largest piece of research conducted on high-performing teams in a decade.

 

Summary of findings:

 

  • High performing workplaces are up to 12 per cent more productive, and three times more profitable than their peers.
  • Of the 78 organisations surveyed: 
    • 15.6% were high-performing 
    • 17% were low performing
    • Over one third are average performers
  • The research highlights the following six capabilities of a high-performing team: 
    • Financial and productivity performance
    • Innovation performance
    • Employee experiences
    • Fairness 
    • Leadership
    • Customer orientation
