Leadership, Culture and Management Practices of High Performing Workplaces
The 5 year Government-funded research report, Leadership, Culture and Management Practices of High Performing Workplaces: The High Performing Workplace Index, was released on October 6 2011.
The study included 78 organisations (employee size 20-1700) and over 5,600 employees making it the single largest piece of research conducted on high-performing teams in a decade.
Summary of findings:
- High performing workplaces are up to 12 per cent more productive, and three times more profitable than their peers.
- Of the 78 organisations surveyed:
- 15.6% were high-performing
- 17% were low performing
- Over one third are average performers
- The research highlights the following six capabilities of a high-performing team:
- Financial and productivity performance
- Innovation performance
- Employee experiences
- Fairness
- Leadership
- Customer orientation
