Are you aware of how getting sustainability “wrong” can permanently derail major multi-million dollar projects and cause long term stock price drops and loss of brand equity? Join your fellow alumni and students for an insightful discussion on the topic of sustainability. An event hosted by the Australian School of Business Brisbane Alumni Branch Committee.   • Registration and networking 5:45pm. Presentation: 6:20pm followed by Panel Discussion at 6:40pm and then Q&A from 7:10-7:30pm. Drinks and networking will follow until 8pm. Capacity at this event is limited, please book early so you don't miss out!


Speakers: Rebecca Miller, Senior Sustainability consultant at ARUP (http://www.arup.com) will lead a discussion on environmental, economic, social and personal approaches to sustainability and how one company baked it into their DNA to establish significant competitive advantage globally. Rebecca was responsible for the development of ARUP’s sustainability policy, a framework first implemented in Queensland that has been adopted by the company globally.

Dr Daniel Franks, a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Responsibility of Mining at the University of Queensland, undertakes applied research and consulting on community relations, mining policy and resource governance. Daniel has advised the Cambodian Government, and has worked with the Environmental Protection Agency and the United Nations Environment Program in Sierra Leone as well as Latin America and Australia.

Following the presentation there will be a panel discussion with a special video contribution from former BP and WWF CEO, Greg Bourne.
